Plate Jewelry
Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry is designed from broken pieces of china, porcelain, ceramic or crystal. Each plate, teacup or mug is broken into pieces and then the piece is filed to a smooth, attractive shape. Two coats of varnish are applied so the edges are glossy. The jewelry piece is then wrapped by hand with wire. This is not costume jewelry, which is mass produced, but rather artisan jewelry, designed with creativity and style. The necklaces, chokers and bracelets are hand crocheted with thin wire. Even most of the clasps are handmade. The wire used is artist wire, which is a copper wire that has been electroplated with a specific color and then glossed over. It will not tarnish. The jewelry can be cleaned by using dish soap and a soft toothbrush to remove any residue from exposure to body chemicals and lotions. Do not use a strong jewelry cleaner as it could harm the coating. The sea glass jewelry is made from authentic sea glass found on the beaches of the Jersey Shore. It is not tumbled sea glass. on the Jersey Shore all my life and work full time as a
paralegal. My daughter Rebecca also works as a paralegal and is
the mother of a beautiful son, my grandson, Joshua. I love
animals and do all that I
can to help fight injustices that are done to them. I'm a
vegetarian. My two cats, Dickon and Patches, and my dog, Jeremy,
are my delightful
